place in June and is a 700 km race on the Yukon River from Whitehorse

Gardening:
Dawson takes flower and vegetable gardening seriously. Many beautiful
flower gardens throughout town and many people with vegetable gardens
and greenhouses. Our growing season is short (last frost late May and
first frost end of August) but intense! You can weed your garden at 3
am in the daylight! Prizes for the best gardens in town and horticultural
fair in August. Gardening courses.
